Sports, Basketball, Hot Shot Competition

The Hot Shots competition is a program designed by the Maine Recreation and Parks Association in conjunction with the Maine Red Claws to allow local athletes to showcase their skills across the state!

The Maine Recreation Parks Association (M.R.P.A.)/Red Claws Hot shot competition is a basketball skills competition for boys and girls ages 9-15. Hot shots involves shooting from five (5) "hot spots" marked on one end of the basketball court. The competition tests each contestant's speed, shooting, dribbling and rebounding ability.  Each athlete will participate in three 1-minute rounds of competition to score as many points as possible.  

The top 2 finishers in each category will qualify for the regional competition in Lewiston on Saturday, March 2nd.  The top 2 athletes at the Regional Competition will be invited to the state-wide competition on March 10th.
