The Gray Rec Department is excited to partner with Windham TKD to bring Taekwondo Lessons to Gray!

Taekwondo is a form of martial arts that originates in Korea.  Tae Kwon Do emphasizes kicks more than other martial arts, making it ideal for improving your child's balance, flexibility, and endurance.   Practicing Taekwondo helps students achieve greater physical, mental, and social development.

Two Different Classes Available:

Beginner Taekwondo.  Ages 6-12.
In a typical forty five minute class students will participate in a series of drills and skills that work on their strength, flexibility and endurance. They will also increase their coordination, reflexes, and athletic skills. Best of all, they will love the excitement of learning Tae Kwon Do kicks, forms, and self defense techniques. No two classes are ever exactly alike, and your child will look forward to each class and to spending time with their friendly classmates and instructors. Our World Class staff are experts at motivating children and know how to motivate them to give their best effort while still keeping classes fun.

Tiny Tigers.  Ages 3-5
Each session includes exercises to develop balance, coordination, and gross motor skills. Tiny tigers run, jump, kick, and have a great time while improving their athleticism and the enjoyment of being physically active.
They also learn basic social skills as they practice in a group, cooperate with a partner, and learn to focus on a teacher and follow verbal instructions. This is an excellent way to prepare your child for greater success at school and other team sports.

Taekwondo uniforms are required for this program.  Uniforms can be purchased through Windham TKD for $30 or you may provide your own.  Click here for a link to a similar product from Amazon.com that may be helpful.
